THE STICKERS' CHARLOTTE BECK CROSSES THE LINE AT LAST YEAR'S SJA INVITATIONAL
Congratulations to St. Joseph's sophomore Charlotte Beck and Parkway's Ben Ruliffson. They are this week's MileSplit LA Performer Of The Week. Beck edged out Episcopal's Ada Mere. Ruliffson was able to garner more votes than Catholic High Baton Rouge freshman Augustin Juneau.
Beck has opened her sophomore campaign with two top six performances. She finished sixth at St. Michael's Bayou Boogie with a time of 19:53. The following week, she finished fifth at Episcopal's Round Table Run (20:05).
In the season opener, Beck was SJA's No. 3 runner. In week she Coach Mark LaHaye's No. 2 runner, behind senior leader Michelle Daigle.
Ruliffson, a junior, has run two personal records in as many races. He opened his season at The Opener where he ran a 5K personal record 16:32. He followed that up with a runner-up finish behind teammate Brennan Robin at Parkway's Border Dash. Ruliffson's time in that three-mile race was a personal record time of 15:39.
