Lafayette Christian Academy's Talan Sievers posted the fastest three mile time in Louisiana during last year during cross country. It came at the Division 4 Region 4 Meet when Sievers ran a 15:05. He would use that momentum the following week when he held off Calvary's Jackson Burney in an epic finish during the last 300 meters of the race to claim his first state title--the LHSAA D4 state championship. 

But Sievers didn't have the fastest time among freshmen at the LHSAA State Cross Country Championships. That belonged to Parkway's Brennan Robin, who finished No. 12 in the Class 5A with a 15:37.60. Sievers' time was 15:40.50. 

Sievers and Robin are the only two of the top five returning sophomore boys in Louisiana who do not attend Jesuit. The Blue Jays don't rebuild. After losing seniors Michael Vocke and Lucas Sampedro, Jesuit will reload with runners like David Quintana (15:37.50), Nicholas Braud (15:50.00), and Andrew Nimmo (16:06.74).
