Most notable of Harris' accomplishments was breaking Myra Combs' 26-year old fieldhouse composite record in the girls' long jump. Harris won with a jump of 19-11.25, which beat the old record by over five inches. Harris was recognized by meet management with the LSU High School Qualifier Girls Field MVP Award.
