Glen Oaks' Na'ryan Delone Wins Performer of the Week!

Glen Oaks sprinter Na'ryan Delone did not have a busy day at the LSU High School Qualifier. He was only relegated to relay duty. But after the McNeese Indoor No. 1 meet, the senior deserved some rest.

It was at the McNeese Indoor No. 1 meet where Delone (49.86) broke the 400m record, becoming the only the second sprinter in the state to run sub 50 in the 400m. How loaded was the field at McNeese? The top seven sprinters were under the meet record of 51.59 set by Carver's Derrick Price in 2017.

"Really, my coach ran me a lot at practice getting me ready for the meet last week," Delone said Saturday night. "I did a lot of training that week."

Delone is no stranger to success. He finished just off the 400m podium at the 2023 LHSAA State Outdoor Meet running a 48.62. However, he was on the podium after the 100m, where he clocked a wind aided 10.63.

He was back on the podium Saturday with his relay 4x400 relay team which finished second to Catholic High (3:29.23). Glen Oaks' time was 3:30.
