POLL: Vote on MileSplit LA Girls' Athlete of the Month!

TEURLING CATHOLIC'S ANGELLE DUPUIS COMPETE IN THE LHSAA CLASS 4A 800m!


This is it! There is only one more spot on the ballot for MileSplit LA Girls' Athlete of the Year ballot. The spot will be filled by one of the four girls on this week's MileSplit LA Girls' Athlete of the Month. The poll will close on Saturday at 9pm and the winner will move. Congratulations to all of the girls for making the ballot, and thank you for voting. 

SHYANN MCCUMMINGS (LEESVILLE TRACK CLUB) - Won last week's MileSplit Girls' Performer of the Week after a strong showing at the Louisiana State Games in Monroe. McCummings won the 800m (2:32.43), finished second in the 400m (1:03.13), and finished third in the 200m (27.34). 

 DAKOTA MILLER (SIMPSON)- Won the week No. 3 Girls' Performer of the Week poll in one which featured freshmen who had won a state championship at the 2023  LHSAA State Outdoor Championships. Miller won the Class C 1600m with a personal record 5:51.01. She also finished ran a leg on Simpson's winning 4x100m team (53.48). She added a silver medal to her collection with a runner-up performance in the long jump (15-4.75). 

AMAIRI ASHFORD (PATRICK TAYLOR) - Completed the perfect season by taking both the 100m (11.72) and 200m (24.30) Class 3A State Outdoor Championships. She was also the District 9-3A Champ in the 400m (1:01.17)

ANGELLE DUPUIS (TEURLINGS CATHOLIC) - Dupuis was the District 4-4A Champion in both the 800m (2:24.11) and 1600m (5:40.58). She went on to score 12 points at the LHSAA Class 4A State Outdoor Championships by finishing second in the 1600m (5:13.93) and fourth in the 800m (2;21.03).
