This week, Davis' supporters had to fight to the finish to help the Mansfield sprinter take how the top honors in the MileSplit LA Boys' Performer of the Week poll.

Davis won with 40% of the vote. Westlake's Tristan Goodly was second with 36% of the votes.

MANSFIELD'S NICK DAVIS DIVES AT THE FINISH LINE TO WIN HIS FIRST INDVIDUAL STATE TITLE!

The team need him at the LHSAA Division II State Indoor Meet, and Davis came through with a diving effort effort to give the Wolverines ten points with his win in the 400m (49.32). What makes Davis' effort remarkable is the fact that he had never broken 50 seconds in the 400m until the state indoor meet.

Speaking of finishes! What about Mandeville senior Reese Johnson taking top honors in the MileSplit LA Girls' Performer of the Week poll? It was the tightest battle we have seen this year as Johnson won with 28% to beat out Episcopal shot putter Addisyn Botos, who had 27% of the vote.

Johnson made the ballot by her runner-up performance in the LHSAA Division I State Indoor Meet 60m (7.62). She finished just behind state champion Scotlandville's Sade Gray (7.58).

Davis and Johnson will move on to take part in MileSplit's Athlete of the Month poll next week.

The Lake Charles College Prep girls' 4x200 ran away with the MileSplit LA Girls' Relay Team of the Week poll getting 59% of the vote. Their LHSAA Division II State Cahmpionship title proved to be much harder to capture as the Trailblazers, who trailed St. Louis Catholic going into the anchor leg, need a massive performance from Jayla Mason. Mason snatched victory from the jaws of defeat for her LCCP team-leaning at the line to beat the Saints.

In the MileSplit LA Boys' Relay Team of the Week poll, Holy Cross' 4x200 came away with the win, like they did in the LHSAA Division I Indoor State Championships. They ran a 1:29.27 to edge out Edna Karr (1:29.28).

In the poll, Holy Cross received 43% of the vote.

LCCP girls and Holy Cross boys 4x200 teams will move to compete for MileSplit LA Relay Team of the Month poll next week.
