POLL RESULTS: Congratulations to Last Week's Poll Winners!

So many polls last week! It was hard to keep up, but we think we did it. The polls all ended last night and it's time to congratulate our winners.

MileSplit LA Athletes of the Month!

Boys' - Captain Shreve Marquez Stevenson. "Macho" may not have run Saturday at LSU's Last Chance Qualifier, that doesn't mean that his fans were putting in the work to bring him across the finish in first place. Stevenson is ranked No. 2 in the 60m dash this season with a 6.85. Only one other sprinter-Warren Easton's Germain Smith-Mata-has run faster. The two will battle it out in two weeks at the LHSAA State Indoor Meet. Of course the defending champion-Edna Karr junior Ra'hji "Roadrunner" Dennis will have something to as well. Stevenson received 41% of the vote in the poll, edging out David Thibodaux's Jackson Jarrett (31%). Stevenson will move on the MileSplit LA Boys Athlete of the Year Poll in late June.

Girls' - Louisie McGehee's Kali Magana. It was great to see Magana competing in her first La. High School track meet after having to sit out due to transfer rules. Magana has been tearing up the club meet circuit, running a 55.92 at the Elite Scholastic Meet in Virginia Beach, Virginia last month. But that was on a banked track. Magana adjusted well to the flat track at Carl Maddox, running a 56.60 edging out St. Louis Hannah Boullion (56.70), who continues to get faster with every meet. Magana received 42% of the vote. Lafayette's Destiny Hooper was second in the poll with 20%. Magana will advance and compete in MileSplit LA Girls' Athlete of the Year poll in late June.

Boys' Relay Team of the Month-St. Louis 4x800. The Saints received 34% of the vote in the MileSplit LA Boys' Relay Team of the Month poll, edging out Northside (29%).
