Here are the girls' Top 20 in every event after two weeks of the 2023 La. high school indoor season.
Scotlandville's Makeriah Harris is the highest ranked female athlete in Louisiana with a time of 8.57 in the 60m hurdles. That time is currently No. 7 in the US.
Last Saturday, at the McNeese Indoor No. 1, Harris ran the 55m hurdles and set a meet record with a time of 8.35. That is currently No. 22 in the nation.
While the hurdles are where Harris is ranked the highest on a national scale, she is among the nation best in the short sprints and the 400m as well. In the 55m at McNeese, Harris ran a time of 7.18--another meet record--and No. 36 mark in the US.
At the LSU High School Classic, Harris won the 400m with a 57.90. That has her ranked No. 69 in the country and No. 2 in Louisiana.
Sophie B. Wright's Kali Magana ran a 56.69 on the banked surface at the The Gallaria Games in December. Magana is ranked No. 27 in the nation and No. 1 in Louisiana.
