In 2022, Huntington's Demetria Harris showed that she was one of the most versatile track and field athletes in Louisiana. The junior Lady Raider is looking for a big year heading into 2023. Harris' 7.76 has her ranked No. 2 among returning 60m sprinters, trailing on Scotlandville's Sade Gray (7.73).
In the 60m hurdles, Harris' 8.78 at the 2022 LHSAA Indoor State Championships trails only Scotlandville's Makeriah Harris (8.60).
Harris is also ranked No.3 among returners in the long jump. Harris had a best during the 2022 indoor season off 17-9.
Two super sophomores, West Feliciana's Tristen Harris and Destrehan's Marley Richard, are the leading returners in the long jump. Both had a best of 17-9.75.
