MICHAEL VOCKE (2102) AND JACK DESROCHES (2096) COMPETE IN 2021 LHSAA STATE MEET
Three juniors find themselves at the top of Louisiana's Top 500 cross country ahead of the 2022 season. Two of those juniors, Michael Vocke and Lucas Sampedro, are for the cross country jugernaut Jesuit, which is not only the most talented group of distance runners at one school at one time in the history of sport, but Jesuit is also one of the top distance programs in the nation.
One coach refers to Jesuit "Louisiana's Newbury Park" referring to the California powerhouse cross country program.
Ruston's Thomas Rogers is the other junior in the top four. With the Bearcats losing Caleb Babineaux to graduation, Rogers will take on more of a leadership role. But, he will not be alone. The Bearcats also have Bryar Madden and Andrew McKaskle. Madden is the No. 8 returner heading into 2022, and McKaskle is ranked as the No. 14 returner.
