Taku Sets Personal Record on Final Day of NCAA Mideast Regional

NEW ORLEANS - Sophomore jumper Nicolette Taku set a personal record in the triple jump Saturday at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships held at John McDonnell Outdoor Track on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
Taku triple jumped 12.41 meters (40 feet, 8.75 inches) to place 14th in the event, while the 4x400-meter relay team, composed of senior Shanon Beelendorf, sophomore Jasmine Momoh, junior Vanessa Kienast and sophomore Valencia Wilson, finished 12th with a time of 3 minutes, 42.81 seconds.
Saturday's at the NCAA Mideast Regional wraps up the season for the Green Wave, which sent five athletes in all for four events to the NCAA regional competition. All Tulane track and field news and information is available on the web at www.TulaneGreenWave.com.
