Neil and Dyer represent their hometown track club in European championships

McNeese State track standouts Jordan Neil and Michael Dyer competed in the European Club championships last weekend in Portugal.

Natives of Ireland, the two represented their North Down club team in a meet in Vila Real de Santo, Portugal. A total of 29 European athletic teams took part.

Neil placed fourth in the 1500 meters with a 3:51.43 clocking and was third in the 3000 meters at 8:40.18 while Dyer finished second in the 800 meters with a 1:53.30 effort and ran a leg on the fifth place 4x400 meter relay.

Neil will return for his sophomore season with the Cowboys in the coming school year. Dyer competed this past season as a graduate student and his collegiate career is now compete.

Michael Dyer

Jordan was a medal winner for the Cowboys during the recent Southland Conference championship, placing third in the 1500 meters. He was also named the McNeese men's most valuable athlete. Dyer was named the team's newcomer of the year.
