NSU cross country teams fare well at La. Tech meet

RUSTON – Northwestern State’s Chris Pearson and Redd Williams posted the men’s and women’s top team scores as both the Demons and Lady Demons took part in the Louisiana Tech Invitational on Saturday.

The meet was a triple dual scoring meet with the Lady Demons scoring victories over Louisiana Tech and Centenary while falling to Louisiana-Lafayette.

Williams topped all Lady Demon runners with a time of 15:51 to finish eighth overall. Naumy Bor followed with a 10th place finish at 16:05 and Shannon Foley in 14th with a clocking of 16:15.

McNeese State’s Tinette Burger won the individual title with a time of 14:38.

On the men’s side, Mark Hoeu of McNeese won the race with a time of 20:30. Pearson placed eighth to lead all Demon runners with a time of 21:43.

The Demons went 1-2 in the triple dual scoring, defeating Louisiana College and bowing to McNeese State and Centenary.
