LR: So Devin, what made you choose Southeastern?

Devin: I chose southeastern because I did not want to go anywhere and I did not want to leave my family because I feel I can jump just as good at southeastern than anywhere else. Especially with the help of southeastern polevault coach Mike Bartolina.

LR: Have you ever done any other sports/track events besides pole vaulting? If so, what were they and how did you enjoy them?

Devin: I have done a different event and it was 300 meter hurdles. I did enjoy it because it was really challenging.

LR: What kind of subject academically interests you, and do you have any idea on what you may be majoring in? If so, what and why?

Devin: I love History and I have no idea what I want to major in yet.

LR: Every track athlete seems to have some pre-race rituals. Other than specific meals and your warmup routine, is there anything you do leading up to race day to help you relax?

Devin: My Pre-race ritual is easy. I just vision myself doing great things or rethink what happened last time.LR: If we asked them, how do you think your friends and/or teammates would describe you?

Devin: Im pretty sure my teammates would describe me as chill or latex back and childish sometimes.

LR: You’re moving on in your track career. What are some of your goals as you go to the next level?

Devin: My goals for the next level would just simply be to keep up with everyone else or try to be as great as they are.

LR: How does it feel to know that you, as of right now, have the highest height in the nation for pole vaulting?

Devin I feel a sense of relief far as the number one polevaulter in the nation.

LR: Do you have any plans/strategies on breaking the national record at Indoor New Balance Nationals?

Devin: I do intend to break the national record and my strategies?  Do as always and focus at practice on jumping at it.

LR: We know you’re a track athlete, a student, a family member, etc. What is something that most people don’t know about you? Do you have any special talents?

Devin: I love to draw!

LR: Thanks Devin, and good luck!
