Green Wave Runners Compete in NCAA Cross Country Regional

New Orleans - The Tulane junior tandem of Aubrey Phillips and Rachel Bryan each turned in top 50 finishes today at the NCAA South Central Cross Country Regional Championships held at the Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco, Texas.

Phillips\' time of 22:20 was good for 42nd overall among the field of 108 participants. Her time marked a career best for Phillips in the 6K, topping her previous best of 22:24 set at the Mississippi College Invitational earlier this year.

Just a few seconds behind Phillips was Bryan in 49th place. Her finish of 22:31 was just off her season-best time in the 6K of 22:29, which was earned at the Mississippi College Invitational.

SMU\'s Rachel Forish took home the individual crown with a time of 20:30, and Arkansas won the team championship, finishing 53 points ahead of host and runner-up Baylor.

The race marks the end of the cross country season for the Green Wave, who will now gear up for indoor track, which begins Dec. 1 when Tulane travels to Clemson, S.C., to compete in the Clemson Invitational.
