Distance runner Sarah Jayne Boyce of Sligo Island, Ireland, has signed a scholarship with McNeese State.
She will enroll for the 2007-08 season and McNeese cross country coach Brendon Gilroy expects her to make an immediate impact on the program.
\"She will run the 800 meters in track but the biggest impact she will have will be in our cross country program. She can come right in and be a leader. For the past few years she has been ranked one of Ireland\'s top 10 prep runners,\" he said.
Boyce prepped at Mercy Convent and finished fourth in the national cross country championships. She has also run a 2:19 in the 800 meters.
She will compete in the 2007-08 season.
