Tulane Trio Leads Green Wave to Victory at Mississippi College Invitational

New Orleans - The Tulane junior trio of Aubrey Phillips, Rachel Bryan and Keriann Langley registered 1-2-3 finishes, respectively, and Savannah Moon turned in a fifth-place finish to lead the Green Wave to the team title at the 2006 Watson Quality Ford Invitational at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss.


Tulane competed among 13 teams and chalked-up its second team title this fall with 27 points. The Wave also captured the team title at the Southern Miss Invitational on Sept. 9.


Phillips ran to a first place finish for the first time this season, and has now finished among the top five runners in four of five meets this fall. She clocked a time of 6:00.7 on the 6K course.


Bryan was two seconds behind Phillips with a time of 6:02.0 and posted her best finish of the fall. She turned in a third-place effort at the Southern Miss Invitational. Trailing Bryan was Langley in third place with a time of 6:03.5, while Moon was the fourth Wave runner in the top five in a time of 6:14.4.


Junior Jill Shriver rounded out the top-20 for Tulane with a 16th-place time of 6:42.5. Sophomore Ceccelia Clarke was 22nd overall in a time of 6:48.6, while classmates Alysa Kociuruba was 42nd (7:07.1) and Adrianne Larimer was 62nd (7:28.8). Senior Lauren Swenson crossed the finish line in 80th place with a time of 7:58.6.



Southeast Louisiana finished second, while Grambling State was third and Arkansas-Pine Bluff was fourth. Conference USA rival Southern Miss rounded out the top five teams with a fifth-place showing.
