2013 Louisiana Milesplit Composite XC Polls: Week 1

Boys Composite:

1. St. Paul's
  • Not much of a surprsie here, St. Paul's takes the early #1 seed.  For the last three years we have had them this way (early to late season favorites) however, will this finally be their year to take the 5A crown.  This is undoubtedly the strongest team in the school's history, missing Kraemer Jackson, they still dominate at the Bayou Boogie over #2 seeded Catholic.
2.  Catholic High Baton Rouge
  • Graduating many of their top runners from 2012, Catholic somehow always find a way to claw their way back to the top of the composite polls.  2013 is no different as they have a good showing at Bayou Boogie and seem to be right on track.
3) Episcopal
  • 2A Powerhouse.  No surprise here.
4. John Curtis
  • Three years ago, one would have been shocked to see this team in the top 5.  Actually did they have an XC team 3 years ago?  Joh Curtis is "not so slowly" becoming a distance school.  A scary thought for those who have to contend with them in the indoor/outdoor season pairing  their field athletes with the new found distance squad. Curtis was 1st at the JCCS Season Opener, 3rd at Mobile - besting # 4 Brother Martin.
5. Brother Martin
  • 4th Mobile CoC, missing Filipe Pelaez
6. Jesuit
  • Under the guidance of new coach Rudy Horvath, the Jays find themselves in a  rebuilding year losing many of their top runners from the 2012 season.

8. Hahnville
  • 4th Bayou Boogie
