Lafayette - Corey Cronan and Krystal Lux were the lead runners for McNeese State during the recent Louisiana-Lafayette cross country meet.
Both freshmen, Cronan led the Cowboys with a 22nd place individually by running a 29:51.98 clocking in the 8K while Lux paced the Cowgirls with a 30th place and a 23:14.26 effort for 5K.
In the team standings the Cowboys finished fifth with 129 points. Southeastern Louisiana won this division with 56 points while ULL had 58, Grambling 68, La-Monroe 81, Northwestern State 138, Xavier 161 and Louisiana College 133.
Louisiana-Lafayette won the women\'s division with 56 points and Southeastern Louisiana was second with 58. The Cowgirls did not have five runners finish and had no posted point total.
Also for the Cowboys in the meet, Matt Fontenot finished 24th at 30:17.05, Phil Winfield was 27th at 30:30.66, Ryan Barrow was 35th at 31:13.84, Matt Hazel was 42nd at 31:55.82 and Blake Miller ran 45th with a 32:11.88 clocking.
Running second for the Cowgirls was Melanie Breaux in 41st spot with a 24:04.61 clocking while Jessica Gonzales-Pons was 44th at 24:53.91 and Amesha Forward was 57th at 30:10.65.
