Primes Brock, Madison Bailey Win Performer Of The Week!


Congratulations to Hahnville's Madison Bailey and C.E. Byrd's Primes Brock. They are this week's MileSplit LA Performer of the Week. Both will move on to compete for MileSplit LA Outdoor Athlete of the Year at the end of the year.

Bailey and Benton's Sadie Hamby were in a battle all week in the girls' poll. The two were responsible for having the most votes in the history of MileSplit LA's Performer of the Week polls. Bailey had 51.9% of the votes which included a whopping (61,608 votes).

Hamby had 44.7% of the votes (53,062). 

Brock received 51.9% of the vote (20,913 votes). Hamilton Christian's Travis Bolden was second with 38.6% (15,630 votes).

Bailey is a junior sprinter at Hahnville who has gone undefeated in the 200m and 400m in three meets this season. She has a personal of record of 25.67 in the 200m and 56.39 in the 400m. Both personal records came at the same meet--Hahnville's Don Raymond Relays. 

In the 400m, Bailey is ranked No. 5 in Louisiana and ranked No. 23 nationally among all juniors. 

Brock had a massive personal record by thirteen feet in the discus at the North DeSoto Relays where he won with a throw of 155-4. He proved that it wasn't a fluke with a throw of 153-9 at the Don Millen Bearkat Invitational. 

He is currently ranked No. 7 in the state.
