D'Agostino Gents top finisher at Centenary Invitational

SHREVEPORT, La. – Horacio D’Agostino finished at the men’s top runner at Centenary Invitational. D'Agostino finished with a time of 34:19.7 in 52nd place.

Gregory Simmons finished 65th with a time of 38:08.9. Cavett Feazel posted a time of 39:28.9 in 74th with Beau Montgomery three spots back with a time of 40:25.1.

Rachel Olson finished third in the women's race with a time of 24:59.2 at the Centenary Invitational as the women’s cross country team placed eighth. It marks the second straight, top-three finish for the senior this season.

Olson, a native of Houston, Texas, held off a late surge from Clare Myers of the University of Dallas and fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference member to claim third behind University of Texas-Tyler runners Carly Kitts and Brittany Brunson, who finished first and second respectively.

Freshman Sydney Smith finished second among the Ladies with a time of 31:26.3 in 40th. Justine Russell finished 44th with a time of 31:58.9. Kayla Thornhill finished four spots back of Russell with a time of 32:16.4. Steffanie Butler rounded out the women’s runners in 67th with a time of 41:20.7.

UT-Tyler claimed both the men’s and women’s crowns.

Centenary returns to the course on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the University of Dallas.
