PARKVIEW BAPTIST'S LUCY CRAMER COMPETES DURING THE 204 INDOOR SEASON
It didn't come easy for the Glen Oaks boys and University Lab girls teams in the District 6-3A Meet Monday evening at Port Allen High School, but they were able to pull out the wins to claim the title district champions.
Glen Oaks, coming off the school's first-ever indoor state championship earlier this year, scored 170 points to beat runner-up University Lab by seven points in the boys division.
The girls' team race was even closer. University Lab, led by junior Annie Garrison, scored 137 points to edge Madison Prep Academy by only three points.
Garrison won the triple jump (33-10), finished second in the 100m hurdles (17.29) and javelin (97-0). She also finished fourth in the 300m hurdles (48.66).
U-Lab also picked up 24 points from senior Addison Harvey in her individual events. Harvey won the 100m (12.20), finished second in the long jump (17-0.5), and third in the 200m (25.80).
Na'Ryan Delone, coming off a state-leading time in the 400m at last week's Grizzly Relays, led the Panthers in the boys' division.
Delone won the 100m (10.65), 200m (21.58), and 400m (48.84). For good measure, he also ran a leg on Glen Oaks winning 4x400 relay (3:25.58).
Other winners for Glen Oaks included Jamarcus Young in the 110m hurdles (15.87) and 300m hurdles (43.06) and LA Christopher Jackson in the long jump (214) and triple jump (45-0.25).
Besides their 4x400 relay, the Panthers also picked a win from the 4x200 relay (1:29.58).
Parkview Baptist dominated in the distance events.
Junior Aiden Monistere was victorious in his distance double. He ran a 4:15.35 in the 1600m and returned at the end of the meet to run a 9:49.69 in the 3200m.
His closest competition in both events came from teammates. In the 1600m, it was Kohl Feucht (4:37.11) and in the 3200m it was Caleb Whipp (10:08.88).
Parkview Baptist's Reed Boudreaux won the 800m (2:00.68).
In the girls' distance events, it was more of the same.
Freshman Lucy Cramer won the 800m (2:18.61), 1600m (5:03.53), and ran a 11:53.16 in the 3200m to lose to her younger sister, Molly Cramer, by .01.
