Meet Information
Dear Coaches,The STA-SSA Season Opener will be held on Friday, March 3, 2011 at the St. Scholastica Academy Track and Field Complex (located next to Covington High School off of Hwy.190) in Covington. The field events will begin at 3:30 p.m. and the running events will begin at 5:30 p.m. Please get on-line and set-up you coacho.com account and enter your roster. Registration opens on Friday, February 25, 2011. There will be no exceptions in getting your entries in on time. All entries are final, there will be no changes or additions to your entries. The deadline for you to make changes or register for the meet will be on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 12:00 noon. Athletes are allowed to participate in any four events.
Each school will have to help run the field events off in order to get everyone home at a reasonable time. The STA & SSA athletes will help us with the hurdles, while the STA parents and coaches will help us with the timing and check-in.Remember Coaches, we are asking that each boys team and each girls team pay a $20.00 entry fee ($40.00 per school if you have boys and girls teams) to help defray the cost of the awards and the coacho.com registration. Please make checks payable to the St. Thomas Aquinas High School Athletic Department. Awards will be given to the top (2) teams in each division. This meets entries are limited to (2) athletes per field event and (2) athletes per running events and (1) relay team per school in the boys and the girls divisions. We will have a JV division and a Varsity division. No individual awards! The Hy-tek program will only score the top (2) runners and the top relay in the team scoring. Team scoring will be 10-8-6-4-2-1.
Results will be e-mailed and posted on la.milesplit.us and will also be posted at the meet.Admission will be $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. Concessions will be available at the St. Scholastica trackThe following teams will be participating in this years meet: St. Thomas Aquinas, Mount Carmel Academy(G) , Mandeville , St. Scholastica Academy(G), Walker, Hosanna Christian, Albany, Maurepas, Lakeshore, Loranger, Hannan, Sophie B.
