Meet Information
Neville High School is excited that you have chosen to attend the 16th Annual Van Leigh Relays on Friday March 13, 2026.
This meet was established to recognize the late Coach Van Leigh for all he did for the Sport of Track & Field in Northeast Louisiana, Neville High School, Neville Junior High (Lee), and the Monroe City School System.
This year we will incorporate a JV category to allow a third entry and relay team, scored separately from the varsity.
Enclosed is the time schedule for the meet.
- For your entries, you will enter them through Milesplit. Make your account and look for the event. Have entries in by Wednesday. Timing will be done by Coach Dwain McDuffie.
- Entry Fee-$75.00 per boy's team and $75.00 per girl's team. May pay at packet pick-up. Make check payable to Neville High School and memo to Track & Field Team. Or we can swap out fees if applicable.
- Two entries are allowed for each event and one relay team for the varsity category and one entry and one relay for the JV category per school.
4. Packet Pick-up -- 2:00pm in weight room on west (home) side of stadium;
email or text changes by 1pm Thursday. My cell: 318-355-4001. No scratch
meeting prior to the meet.
- Please keep all athletes in team areas as best as possible to prevent unnecessary clusters.
- Running Events: Heat and lane assignment at athlete check-in area. Athletes are to report to the check-in area one event before their event.
- Field Events: 4 Attempts; NO Finals. Standard scoring 10-8-6-4-2-1
9. Spikes: " or 6mm maximum length. Javelin will be contested on a grass
runway. Long spikes may be used.
10. Awards: Medals to top 3 in individual and relay events that are labeled as
varsity participants. Team trophies to winning Varsity boy's and girl's teams.
11. Meet will be conducted according to LHSAA rules.
