Coaches,
Thank you for attending this year's District 9-1A championship. We look forward to an outstanding day of competition. Below you will find all of the information for this year's meet.
Meet Date: Wednesday April 23, 2025
Location: Southern University A.W. Mumford Stadium
9:30 am: Coaches Meeting/ Packet Pick Up/ Implement Weigh In
Scratch Meeting
All head coaches must attend the Coaches' Scratch Meeting at 9:30 a.m. We will also need your help in making sure each field event is administered and judged in a professional and efficient manner (please see the school assignments below).
Entry Fee
We will all share the costs of the meet, including FAT timing, Clean up fee, trophies, medals, and MVP plaques. Please make checks out to Southern University Laboratory School Track & Fieldin the memoto be turned in the day of the meet. The cost will be $370 per school.
Admission
Admission will be $10.00. Athletes and coaches are admitted for free. Cash payments/transactions will not be accepted for admission.
Concessions
Concessions will be open to the public.
Team/Spectator Entry
Both team and spectator entry will take place on the visitor (East) side of the stadium. All participants, coaches, and fans are asked to use this entrance.
Warm Up Area
Athletes will warm up on the practice football field outside of the stadium on the east side. When not participating, athletes must remain in the team area.
Team Area
Team areas should be made in the stands in the stadium or underneath the stadium on the visitor (East) side.
Registration
All entries must be turned in by Monday, Apr 21, 2025at 11:00 pm.
2 Athletes per event, Maximum of 4 events per athlete.
Teams should enter entries on MileSplit website for registration under the District 9-1A Championship located in Baton Rouge, LA at Southern University.
Field Events
Starting Height for High Jump will be 2 inches lower than the lowest registered height. Throwing events and horizontal jumps will get 3 throws/jumps in the preliminary round, at which time each athlete will get 3 more attempts in order from 7th to 1st place. An athlete's best attempt, whether in prelims or finals will be counted for scoring.
Athlete Check In
Field Events: All athletes must check in 15 minutes prior to the start of the event with the judge at the event site.
Running Events: All athletes must check in at the clerks table in the middle of the field. There will be three calls per event.
- 1st call: 15 minutes prior
- 2nd call: 10 minutes prior
- 3rd and final call: 5 minutes prior to the start of event
Qualifications
The top 4 places in each event will advance to regionals.
