I would like to inform you about the High Flying Owls
Invitational meet to be held at Chalmette High School on Thursday, March 7, 2024.
The boys' teams that are participating are Chalmette, Archbishop
Rummel, Archbishop Shaw, Belle Chasse, Carver, East Jefferson, Riverdale, Sarah
Reed, Slidell, St. Augustine, and Warren Easton.
The girls' teams that are participating are Chalmette, Academy
of the Sacred Heart, Archbishop Chapelle, Belle Chasse, Cabrini, Carver, Dominican,
Riverdale, East Jefferson, Sarah Reed, Slidell, and Waren Easton.
ENTRIES WILL BE DONE
USING www.la.milesplit.com. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO SET UP AN ACCOUNT IN ORDER
TO REGISTER YOUR TEAM PRIOR TO ENTERING ATHLETES. REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN AND
CLOSES AT 11:59 ON 3/5/23. THE MEET IS LISTED UNDER CHALMETTE HIGH FLYING OWLS.
Uniforms shall apply to all LHSAA rules. Spikes should be "
or less on the track and jump runways. Throwing shoes or tennis shoes must be
worn for the discus and shot put. The javelin will be thrown on a rubber
runway, so tennis shoes or track spikes must be worn.
No tape or chalk should be used on the runways or track. CHS
will supply markers.
Starting blocks will be provided by CHS. Schools must supply
their own relay batons.
Schools will be asked to work one field event and an exchange
zone.
We would like to have teams sit on the home side of the
stadium, from the press box towards the baseball field. Spectators shall sit on
the home side of the stadium, from the press box towards the school building. Restrooms will be available, but no locker
rooms will be available. Concessions will be available.
Entry fees for teams will be $35.00 for the boys and $35.00
for the girls. Checks can be made out to Chalmette High School.This is to help with the cost of awards and
clean up.
Trophies will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd
place teams. Trophies will be awarded to the field MVP and the track MVP.
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each event.
Field events will begin at 3:00 and running events at 5:30.Please take a look at the field event
assignments for your school and the event we have you assisting with.If your school is not listed, we will update
the list once entries are submitted by all schools participating.
Athletes will get four throws or jumps.
Cost of admission is $5.00.
