The pole vault was a featured event at the Louisiana State Indoor Championships with US leader Morgan Leleux competing and a US #4 clearance of 16'2" from Joseph Caraway (Lacassine HS) to win the boys' state title. Leleux did not match her US #1 height of 13'2.50", but still had a solid clearance of 12'5" to win with another 12 foot vaulter in the meet with Merrit Van Meter of Met Park finishing as a state runner-up to Leleux at 12'0". The Catholic High School boys posted a swift US #7 and meet record time of 1:29.69 in the 4x200 meter relay, while the Baton Rouge girls scored victories in the 4x200 (1:42.76) and 4x400 (3:59.44) meter relays with their 4x400 time tying the meet record by a 2002 relay from their school. Bradley Syle of South Plaquemines clocked a US top 10 time in the 55 meter dash with a 6.31 performance in the prelims. Syle came back in the finals to win the state title with a 6.34 clocking. Catholic of Baton Rouge won the Division I boys' team title by a 69 point margin, while the Episcopal boys won the Division II title in a much closer contest by one point over Franklin. Girls' team champions were Northside in Division I and St. Thomas Aquinas in Division II.
