TIME: 8:30AM-Start of 5K Runners, 8:32AM-Start of 5K Walkers

7:30AM-Day of race registration and packet pickup

(at the East Bank/Start side in Destrehan))

PLACE: Destrehan Recreation Park (under Bridge).

Directions to race site from I-10, exit #220 to I-310 (west of Kenner) proceed south to Exit #6 (Destrehan/St. Rose) for Race day registration, race number pickup for Mailed-In, Faxed In, On-Line registered entrants. Parking .is available at numerous locations near the starting site, officials will direct you. Parking is also available on the finish side. Bus transportation pre and post race is provided.

Please plan to arrive early, race day registration and pickup will close promptly at 8:20AM.

The I-310 exit ramp closes at 8:00AM.

Packet Pickup: Race numbers and instructions for mailed in, faxed in, on-line registered entrants can be picked up at the Pre-Registration event on Friday, April 4th from 5PM till 7PM at the westbank bridge park in Luling. You can also register on Friday.

Or on the day of race at the start site prior to 8:20AM (see details above under "Place").

Packet pickup on the day of race closes promptly at 8:20AM.

Transportation:

Pre-Race: Buses depart from in front of the West Bank Bridge Park beginning at 7:00AM and will end at 7:45AM. Please arrive on time, last bus leaves at 7:45AM.

Post Race: Buses will begin taking finishers back to start line parking area's from 9:45AM till noon.

Commemorative t-shirts will be given out to pre-registered entrants at packet pickup (see above for date/time) or at the t-shirt booth on the day of race. Pre-Registered entrants, please pickup your shirt prior to 9:30AM. Entrants registering on day of race may pickup their t-shirt after 9:30AM. Should supplies run out, information as to re-order and pickup will be announced at the race. Please keep race number and t-shirt tab until claiming shirt.

AWARDS: ($4000.00 prize money available, waiting for you to win..!!)

Course record bonus of $500.00 to the winning male or female setting a new 5K course record.

Course records are Male: Passmore Furusu, 14:28 (1997)

Female: Melissa Cook, 17:00 (2005)

Prize money awarded to top 5K finishers:

1st overall male and female: $500.00

2nd overall male and female: $300.00

3rd overall male and female: $250.00

1st masters male and female: $150.00

1st grandmasters male and female: $100.00

1st Seniors male and female: $100.00

1st race walker male and female: $100.00

Age Group awards: 1st and 2nd place ages 10-under thru 80 and over will receive commemorative medallions.

Race walker awards to top 10 male and female, commemorative medallions.

(All competitive race walkers must check in at race walker judging table to receive scoring dot for awards division eligibility.)

United Way Bridge Run/Walk Team Challenge:

The company with the most participants in the race will be awarded the "Team Challenge Trophy" . Each race number will include a tab for each participant to denote their company affiliation and place in the box for tallying. (Box will be located at the United Way booth on the day of race). The "Team Challenge Trophy" winner will be presented with a revolving trophy to keep for one year.
