She's Back! Girl Power Triathlon Returns After 7 Years: Sunday, September 30th, 2012, UNO Aquatic Center
Many locals will remember where they were on the Sunday before Hurricane Katrina struck the city! That Sunday we had to cancel the Girl Power Triathlon but now shes back!
Premier Event Management is bringing back the super sprint event from the UNO Aquatic Center on the Lakefront Arena Campus. I can still remember the phone call from the Orleans Levee District Police that canceled the 2005 Girl Power Triathlon, stated race director Bill Burke. With Lakeshore Drive construction finally completed the time is right to bring back the Girl Power Triathlon.
The 2012 edition of the Girl Power Triathlon will offer a 300-meter pool swim followed by a 10-mile bike and finishing with a 2 mile run. The official Girl Power Triathlon web site is open at www.girlpowertri.com, and you can register now for this great event! So spread the word that Girl Power is BACK, Sunday, September 30, 2012!
