STANFORD, Calif. -- Competing against some of the top distance runners in the nation, junior Daniel Mutai clocked a time of 29.10.20 to finish second in the 10,000-meter run Section Two late Friday night. The time is the second fastest in the Sun Belt this season and was a personal best for Mutai while also breaking the school record.
Mutai set himself up well to qualify for NCAA Prelims as he now has one of the top-20 best times in the country and a top-10 time in the East Region. Mutai also owns the best time in the Sun Belt in the 5,000-meter run following his finish at the Texas Relays last weekend (14:26.52).
