e UL men’s cross country took first overall at the 2011 Ragin’ Cajun Invitational at Acadiana Park on Friday.
The men’s squad was led by overall individual winner Zach France, who finished the four mile course in a time of 21:36.4 Adam Kenndrick finished just behind France in a time of 21:44.7. Patrick Spiller came earned the team’s third top-five finish with a time of 22:11.9 in a fifth-place effort.
The men combined for an impressive 28 team points, finishing 67 points ahead of second place Alcorn State.
On the women’s side, Lauren Broussard took 10th overall for the team in 20:38.5 to lead the third-place effort. Petrona Layne came in 12th in 20:52.0. Michon Meche, Jolee Bonneval and April Colomb took a respective 15-17 to help the garner the bronze performance.
The teams return to action next Saturday as they will compete at the 2011 LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge. Results and coverage will be available on RaginCajuns.com.
