Men's Cross Country Tops LSU, Finishes Second at McNeese State

 LAKE CHARLES, La. - Matt Wolfe led the Bulldogs with a seventh-place finish and Tech won the tie-breaker to top LSU as the Bulldogs finished second at the Asics McNeese State Cowboy Stampede Saturday morning.

Tied with LSU at 74 after the first five runners, the scores then turned to each team's sixth finisher with Tech's Jeff Boudreaux finishing ahead of LSU's Sean Swanner to give LA Tech the edge in the tiebreaker.

Wolfe's time of 20:09.08 in the four mile run is a season best mark and is the second time in two meets that Wolfe had led the Bulldogs this season.

Alwayne Green finished in 11th place overall, second on the team with a time of 20:26.52 while Jeff Monroe finished third on the team, running 20:28.39 to place 14th. Jeff Slocum ran 20:33.84 to finish 18th while Jack Ramstad ran 21:05.92 to finish 26th, rounding out Tech's top five runners.

Louisiana Tech returns to action on Oct. 16 in Shreveport for the Centenary Invitational.
