Mobile, Ala. - The Loyola University New Orleans track team competed in the University of South Alabama Invitational in Mobile on Saturday at the Jaguar Track Stadium and came away with a pair of new school records.
Daniel Afanador set a Loyola record in the 200m with a time of 23.10 while Sarah Tortorich broke the 400m record for the women at 59.78. Loyola also had several runners set personal bests, with three different runners breaking their previous marks. Neal Outland finished the 200m in 24.41 and the 400m in 53.97 while Kenny Tsao set a best in the 800m with a 2:09. Alexandra Lain set two bests in the 100m at 13.06 and in the 200m at 27.14 In the 400m, Afanador ran a 52.71 while Jenna Knoblach finished at 1:06.23 for the women. Rounding out the results, Tortorich ran the 200m in 26.98 while Adam Mayon and Chris Graugnard ran the 1500m in 4:57 and 5:39 respectively. Loyola is back in action next weekend when they head to Baton Rouge for the LSU Alumni Gold.
