Ngetich crossed the finish line in 25:11.80 as he finished 21 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Brandon Maseley of Sam Houston State. Ngetich's performance helped Southeastern to a seventh-place finish with 164 points. Other runners competing for the Lions included Sean Allerton, who finished 14th (26:46.09), Joey Valure who was 25th (27:25.20), Josh Chapman who was 66th (30:34.30) and Rosendo Vallejos who was 67th in 30:41.05.
SHSU won the team championship with 47 points, with North Texas (66), Lamar (92), Texas-San Antonio (116) and Texas-Arlington (144) rounding out the top five.
On the women's side, Wallace crossed the line in 23:17.40 as she finished behind Ana Rodriguez, who ran unattached (21:32.88), Jackie John of Lamar (22:52.35), Ruth Waller of McNeese State (23:04.26) and Natasha Williams of Lamar (23:08.31).
Shanna Lilkas placed 19th overall for Southeastern (24:23.50) while Kayla Schneeweiss was 60th (27:12.35), Kelli Schneeweiss 75th (28:19.90) and Brooke Johnson 85th (29:48.71).
Southeastern scored 231 points to finish in ninth-place in the 14-team field. Lamar took the women's crown with 55 points followed by UTSA (90), SHSU (122), Rice (141) and North Texas (152).
