Track and Field: Roy, Keyes Shine at Twilight

The Ragin' Cajuns dynamic duo of the track and field Antwain Keyes and Chris Roy took home first-place honors in the LSU Twilight Invitational indoor meet in Baton Rouge, La., on Friday afternoon.

Keyes hit a high jump of 2.10 meters (6-10.75 feet) to take home first place. He was closely followed by teammate Jeffrey Vidacovich who had a jump of 2.06 meters (6-09.00 feet).

Roy, meanwhile, out-jumped his competition by nearly a foot in the pole vault, vaulting 5.23 meters (17-01.75 feet). The next closest competitor was LSU's Thomas Reinecke who had a jump of 4.97 meters (16-03.50 feet).

Both Roy and Keyes are provisionally qualified for the National Indoor Championships.

Freshman Jacob Domingue put out another impressive performance in both the weight throw and shot put. He scored a distance of 15.87 meters (52-01.00 feet) in the shot put for seventh place. In the weight throw, Domingue tossed a distance of 16.53m (54-02.75 feet) for an eighth-place finish.

For the women it was Jasmine Anderson with the highest finish, taking home fourth place in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.67 seconds.

The Cajuns return to action Feb. 27 as they head to Murfreesboro, Tenn., to participate in the Sun Belt Championships.
