GRACE KEENE (10) COMPETES IN AN INDOOR MEET EARLIER THIS YEAR
Congratulations to Northshore freshman Grace Keene and Parkway's Brennan Robin. They are this week's MileSplit LA Performers Of The Week. Both Keene and Robin will advance to compete for MileSplit LA Outdoor Athlete Of The Year honors at the end of the season.
Keene won the MileSplit LA Girls Performer Of The Week poll by getting 5,652 votes. Airline sprinter Jaycie Wallace was the runner-up with 4,839 votes.
Robin won the MileSplit LA Boys Performer Of The Week poll. Robin won with 3,878 votes. West Monroe distance runner Tytan Johnson was the runner-up with 2,931 votes.
Robin ran Louisiana's No.1 time in the 1600m at the LA Mile Festival earlier this month. His 4:15.55 is the No. 2 all-time 1600m time in Louisiana for sophomore boys behind Eric Coston's 4:15.33 in 2015. Last year, Robin made his mark by running Louisiana's fastest 1600m among all freshmen with his 4:14 at the 2024 LHSAA State Outdoor Meet.
Keene made the poll by her win at the Chubby Marks Invitational 800m with a time of 2:16. The time ranks No. 2 in Louisiana and ranks No. 3 All-Time for freshmen girls in Louisiana.
