The Captain Shreve boys and C.E. Byrd girls came away with team victories in their season opener at Friday's Yellow Jacket Relays. Both schools had athletes to come away from Lee Hedges Stadium with meet records.
For Shreve, it started in the field events with Lionel Prudhomme in the discus. Prudhomme launched a throw of 173-4 to break the old meet record by more than 17 feet. The Byrd Yellow Jackets broke the meet record in the first running event--the 4x800.
