SO FAR, MANDEVILLE'S MAX JACKETTI IS SIX SECONDS FASTER IN THE 1600m IN 2025. 
The 2025 La. high school indoor season is only two weeks old, but we have witnessed some impressive times during the early season--especially when it comes to the distance events.
Leading the way is Parkview Baptist's Aiden Monistere, who ran a 4:11 in his 1600m opener at the LSU HS Classic. Monistere followed that up with the fastest mile ever run indoors by Louisiana high school distance at the VA Showcase. 
With the conversion, Monistere has an improvement of 21.29 from his performance over the same distance in 2024. That leads a handful of the distance runners in the state who have also improved. 
Another runner who has made a big jump is Sacred Heart Ville Platte's Jackson Soileau. His season best time of 4:52 is a 20 second improvement from a year ago.
There has been no sophomore slump for Max Gennaro. Last year at this time, Gennaro had a time of 4:56. This year, he has recorded a 4:43 thus far. Tha...
