The SJA Invitational is usually the first big meet on Louisiana soil. It did not disappoint on Saturday--especially in the girls' division which included most--if not all--of the top names in the state. Coming out on top was St. Joseph's, Baton Rouge Michelle Daigle, who won with a time of 16:59, 57 seconds faster than her previous best this season.
With that performance, Daigle moves to No. 1 in the rankings, jumping over Parkview Baptist freshman Molly Cramer, who also had a big personal record.
Cramer, who finished second at SJA with a 17:06, came into Saturday's meet with a best time of 17:53.
In the boys' division, Parkview Baptist senior Aiden Monistere continued his magical senior season with a course record at Highland Road Park! Monistere ran a blistering 14:12, almost a minute faster than his closest competitor--Parkway's Brennan Robin.
Robin led a Parkway team which won the team title in the boys' division. Daigle led the Red Stickers to a win at their home meet.
