POLL: Vote On The MileSplit LA Girls' Performer of the Week!

MANDEVILLE'S REESE JOHNSON CRUISES THROUGH THE LINE IN THE 60m PRELIMS

Week No. 3 is in the books and it's time to decide who will be the MileSplit LA Performer of the Week. The winner of this poll will join John Curtis' Addilyn Dufrene and Lafayette's Khai Williams on the end-of-the-year MileSplit LA Girls Indoor Athlete of the Year. Congratulations to all of this week's finalists for making the ballot. The poll will close on Saturday at 9pm.

Scotlandville's Makeriah Harris - Along with fellow senior Sade Gray, Harris led the Lady Hornets to victories in both the 4x200 and 4x400. She also picked up her first victory in the calendar year in the 60m hurdles. She had her best time in that event a little over a week ago at the Carl Lewis Invitational finishing third with a time of 8.49. The time ranks No. 6 in the nation.

East Ascension's Kiristen Mcgirt - A big PR for Mcgirt, who had a toss of 41-10.75 which puts the junior as the No. 21 ranked thrower in the nation. It was Mcgirt's season opener.

ICabrini's Bailee Villavaso - After finishing third at the LSU High School Classic with a PR of 11-7.75, Villavaso equaled that mark at the LSU High School Qualifier, but this time she came away with a victory. Villavaso is the most improved pole vaulter in the state having finished No. 14 with a jump of 8-10.75 in the '23 LHSAA D1 State Indoor Meet.

Mandeville's Reese Johnson - Tied her indoor PR of 7.62 in the finals of the LSU High School Qualifier. The University Notre Dame commit's time ranks No. 39 in the nation. Like last year's indoor season, Johnson is showing to ability to get faster every meet.

Destrehan's Marley Richard - Opened her junior campaign with a solid effort. She finished third in the long jump with a leap of 17-6. In the triple jump, Richard finished at the runner-up to Huntington's Demetria Harris. Richard best was 36-11.75.

Warren Easton's Khai Brown - This former MileSplit LA Future is showing why she was featured. The freshman made the finals in the girls 60m hurdles. She finished fifth with a time of 9.46. That ranks No. 10 in the nation among all freshmen.

St. Joseph's Michelle Daigle - Another meet, another podium finish for Daigle. This meet it was in the 3200m where Daigle finished third with a time of 11:20.

Parkview Baptist's Molly Cramer - The 8th grader, who is coming off a surgery about a month ago, looked strong in her season opener. She finished third in the 1600m with a time of 5:10. That is seven seconds faster than the next fastest 8th grader in the nation. Not bad for a girl who played in a soccer game the night before.
