SPRINT NOLA'S KHAI BROWN COMES THROUGH THE LINE AFTER WINNING THE 400m!
Congratulations to these eight finalists for MileSplit LA Girls' 14&U Performer of the Week. The poll will close on Saturday at 9pm. The winner will move on to earn a spot in the MileSplit LA Girls' 14&U Athlete of the Year.
Ilya Simpson (Future Track Club) - Simpson won the 11-12 girls 100m (13.08) and finished second in the 200m (27.66) at the USATF Southern Association Championships. At the US Express Invitational earlier this summer, Simpson won the 200m with a meet record 27.45 and also won the 400m (1:02.44).
Jordyn Rush (US Express) - Rush won the 11-12 girls high jump at the USATF Southern Association Championships with a jump of 1.51 meters. She also won the 80m hurdles (18.61). Rush competed in four events at the 2022 AAU Junior Olympics. Her No. 21 in the high jump (3-9.25) was the highest finish.
Dai'jah Robertson (Unattached)- Robertson won the 14-year old girls' 100m (12.34) at the Louisiana Governor's Games.
Varenka Zhuk (New Orleans Metro Stars) - Won the 1500m (5:15.69) and the 800m (2:31.16) in the 12-year old girls division of the Louisiana Governor's Games.
Tyler Parker (South Baton Rouge Jaguars) - Park won the 10-year-old girls 400m (1:08.35) at the Louisiana Governor's Games in Chalmette.
Khai Brown (Sprint NOLA) - Brown won the 14-year-old girls 400m (1:01.76), 100m hurdles (15.10), and broke the meet record in the 200m hurdles with a time of 28.44--which is a new meet record.
Ann Guillot (Southeast Louisiana Roadrunners)- Guillot won the 11-year-old girls 800m (2:42.04) at the Louisiana Governor's Games.
Ja'Nyla Drennan (LJA Trojan Flash)- Drennen won the 13-year old girls shot put with a throw of 29-1.75.
