Here are the finalist for MileSplit LA Girls' Athlete of the Month. They got her by winning a weekly poll during March. The winner will move to compete for MileSplit LA Girls' Athlete of the Year, which will be decided during the first week in June. This poll will close at 9pm on Saturday.
LENNON SIRMON (NEVILLE) - Won the Week No. 1 poll after taking a couple of gold medals in the first high school meet of her career at the D&H Relays. She won the high jump (4-10) and the 100m hurdles (15.96).
KENNEDI BURKS (BARBE) - The sophomore Lady Buc is an undefeated 4-0 in the 400m this year. She won the Week No. 2 poll after winning the 400m at the Merchant Farmers Bank Barbe Buc Relays (57.20) . Her season best of 56.58 came on Friday at the N.I.S.H Tabasco Relays.
LALAINA WOOD (RAYVILLE)- Wood was the winner in Week No. 3 poll. Wood got on the ballot by winning three events at the Castor Invitational. Wood won the 800m (2:41.03), 1600m (6:03.12), and long jump (15-5).
FAITH MILLER (RUSTON)- Won the Week No. 4 poll after helping her Lady Bearcats win Ruston's home meet--The "Hoss" Garrett Relays. Miller won the long jump (17-4.5) and triple jump (36-1). Both marks are season best performances.
