POLL RESULTS! Reese Johnson & Dedrick Latulas Win!

MANDEVILLE'S REESE JOHNSON (MIDDLE) COMPETES AT LSU HIGH SCHOOL QUALIFIER!

Congratulations to Mandeville's Reese Johnson and Westgate's Dedrick Latulas for winning MileSplit LA Athlete of the Month. Both will advance to the MileSplit LA Athlete of the Year poll in June.

It was no surprise to Westgate head coach Philip Guidry that his star jumper won Athlete of the Month.

"Dedrick works diligently at everything he does," Guidry said. "He is a model student-athlete and is well liked by his peers. He is a remarkable young man and I am blessed that God has put him in my life."

Latulas may need to run for Mayor of New Iberia. He received 66% of the vote in the poll. His closest opponent was Edna Karr's Camren Hardy, who had 29% of the vote.

The vote for MileSplit LA Girls' Performer of the Week was much tighter.

Johnson received 37% of vote beating out Northside's Quincy Simon, who had 33%.

In the relay polls, St. Louis Catholic 4x400(54%) ran away with the MileSplit LA Girls' Relay Team of the Month, and in a tighter battle on the in the boys' poll, Holy Cross 4x200 (55%) edged out Westgate's 4x200 (42%).

We want to congratulate all of the athletes and relay teams who made the ballot for athlete and relay team of the month, and we also want to thank everyone for voting in the polls.
