NATCHITOCHES, La. - Sparked by 1-2-3 finishes by Jack RamstadJosh Slocum and Matt Wolfe, the Louisiana Tech men's cross country team won the Northwestern State Invitational Monday afternoon in dominating fashion.

The Bulldogs placed four runners in the top five and six in the top eight en route to the meet victory. The women's team, led by Chelsea Dressle's sixth-place time, finished third in the meet.

Ramstad's time of 28:34 was almost a full minute better than any other non-LA Tech runner in the meet. Slocum followed five seconds later with a time of 28:39 while Wolfe, who placed third, ran 29:08.

Rounding out the top runners, Germaine Morris placed fifth for the Bulldogs with a time of 29:29.Kyle Davis, who led LA Tech at the Mississippi State Invitational on Sept. 19, placed seventh with a time of 30:29 while Adam Carlisle placed eighth, running 30:46.

On the women's side, Dressle's time of 22:30 led the Lady Techsters. Kristen Loy placed 14th for Louisiana Tech with a mark of 25:10 while Stacia Hanneman's time of 27:31 placed her 19th. Shante Benion closely followed with a 20th-place finish, running 27:57.

The Lady Techsters return to action on Oct. 3 at the Centenary Invitational in Shreveport, La. while Bulldogs will next run in the Watson Ford Invitational in Clinton, Miss. on Oct. 10.
