Zach France and Reese Lee were the top finishers for the Ragin’ Cajuns cross country team on Friday night in Lake Charles at McNeese States 2x3000 meter two-person relay race at the Enos Derbonne Recreation Complex.
The race was cut from 4x1 ½ mile relay to 2x3000 meter relay because of the fact that the entire course could not be cut because of wet grounds.
France and Lee posted a time of 18:18 to take fifth place for the men. The winner for the men was Southeastern Louisiana’s team of Kalphy Kemboi and Henry Rop who posted a time of 17:10, narrowly beating McNeese State’s Joashua Sawe and Johnathan Koenck at 17:18.
For the Cajuns women’s team it was Callie Picou and Katie Roland who was the highest placing team at ninth with a time of 23:19. Winning the women’s event was Amy Guinn and Alvy Carragher of McNeese State with a time of 21:24.
