Busljeta Set Tulane Record in Hammer at Penn Relays

Senior Katarina Busljeta set a school record to win the college division of the hammer throw at the Penn Relays Thursday in Philadelphia. Her throw of 51.93 is the new Tulane record.
Busljeta topped her previous best by over three feet, and turned in the fifth-best toss of any collegian in the field, besting five efforts from athletes in the championship division.
In the discus, she tossed a personal best with a toss of 46.53, placing seventh in the college division.
Freshman Ana Ruzevic placed seventh in the championship division of the javelin, with a throw of 42.80 meters.
In the college division of the 400 meter hurdles, freshman Zandria Debowles placed 20th with a time of 1:02.02.
The Tulane 4x100 team placed 23rd in the college division, as Kasey Rodgers, Olivia Kizzee, Alesha Brooks and Shaina Pelham teammed for a time of 46.95.
In the 4x400 college division, the Green Wave finished 27th, as Brooks, Kizzee, DeBowles and Pelham finished fourth in heat four in 3:50.80.
The Penn Relays continue Friday.
