The Scoop: The Indoor Season Is Ramping Up

4. Jenna Rogers May Be On The Way To Busting The Ceiling In The High Jump

Only five girls cleared a height of 5 feet, 10 inches or greater last year indoor.

That means Rutherford (NJ) High sophomore Jenna Rogers is already ahead of schedule.

The sophomore pocketed a winning height of 5-10 at the AT&T Coaches Hall of Fame Invitational on Saturday in New York, moving up to U.S. No. 1.

The leaper actually closed her outdoor season this past June with a career best of 6-0.75 at New Balance Nationals Outdoor, winning a national title -- and in the process defeating favorite Jelena Rowe of Illinois.

But Rogers could be the new favorite in the event moving forward. After focusing mostly on the high jump over the outdoor season, Rogers is competing for the first time indoors.
