RUSTON--Louisiana Tech senior distance runners Kinsey Dinnel and Zach Schuler each recorded career best performances at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, California on Thursday.

Dinnel competed in the 3000m steeple chase and recorded a career best time of 9:05.75 which was good enough for an eighth place finish and a top five time in Tech history. Schuler's 10,000m time of 31:32.15 was a lifetime best run by one minute.

"I'm very proud of both of these guys," Tech head coach Gary Stanley said. "They both ran lifetime bests and handled the pressure of a huge meet well."

The Mt. Sac Relays has over 8,000 entries each year with only the world's top athletes selected to compete. There will be schools from all over the nation as well as unattached athletes from the U.S., England, Japan and Australia.

The rest of the Louisiana Tech Track and Field team will be traveling to Baton Rouge, La. this weekend to compete in the Alumni Gold Invitational at LSU. DI
