Personal Bests Dot Tulane's Performances at Ole Miss Invitational

OXFORD, Miss. - Olivia Kizzee posted regional qualifying marks and personal bests in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes as the Tulane track & field teams competed at the Ole Miss Invitational Saturday.

Kizzee, a junior from Houston, turned in a time of 11.51 in the finals of the 100-meter, placing fourth overall and setting a new career best time. In the 200, she was the runner up with a personal best time of 23.93. She was the first collegian across the line as Ladera Guy (23.42) ran unattached.

Freshman Ana Ruzevic turned in her fourth regional qualifying mark in the javelin, with a heave of 48.35 meters to finish as the runner up. Freshman Kelly Curtis posted her personal best in the javelin, with a distance of 34.82 meters to place 11th.

Sophomore Zandria Debowles placed third in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01, while sophomore Aiesha Brooks finished 14th in the 400-meter dash in 56.78.

Freshman Kasey Rodgers placed 12th in the 100, with a time of 11.96. She also post a time of 25.19 in the 200-meter, finishing 23rd.

On the men's side, freshman Koplan Nwobuoku set his personal best in the 400-meter, with a time of 51.26, while freshman Garrett Myer's 5.90 meter long jump was his best career mark.

In his debut, freshman Jonathan Kirby posted a 50.94 mark in the javelin, placing seventh, while freshman Craig Kolwicz came in 13th with a distance of 46.88.

Senior Ian Batherson came in 19th in the pole vault with a height of 4.10 meters. Freshman Max Weber's throw of 37.81 placed him 21st in the discus.
 

Freshman Jared Firestone turned in a 10.94 in the 100-meter, placing 32nd among the 67 entrants. In the 5000-meter run, freshman Brian Lozes posted a time of 16:46 to finish 24th and freshman Mike Mainguy added a 17:59 to place 27th.

Tulane is back in action next weekend at the LSU Outdoor in Baton Rouge.
