LAFAYETTE- Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns track and field team hosted and competed in the Louisiana Classics Saturday. Louisiana was led by pole vaulter Chris Roy who won the pole vault and provisionally qualified for the NCAA National Meet. Roy attempted to break the school record but came up just short. Louisiana had 13 top three finishes in the meet.
Louisiana crowned two other champions on the day. Paula Parker took home first place in the 800m with a time of 2:17.20 and the women's 4x100m relay team won with a time of 47.25. The relay team was made up of Deanna Alfred, Jamie Blue, Jasmine Anderson and Jessika Jones.
UL's Taryn Simmons finished second in the 400m hurdles but was the top collegiate finisher.

Jasmine Manuel second in the long jump and triple jump.
Torri Choate third in the 5000m.
4x400m relay team made up of Taryn Simmons, Lina Futi, Paula Parker and Jasmine Anderson.
Men
Kenneth Bellard second in triple jump.
Tyler Guidry second in shot put.
4x100m relay team finished second. Team made up of Kelvan Turner, Roderick Houston, Stacey Fuller and Sean Ruth.
Antwain Keyes third in high jump.
The Cajuns will be back in action March 27 and 28 at the LSU Relays.
